CBMM sponsored the Microalloyed Pipe Steels for the Oil & Gas Industry conference in Russia in April 2013. The event focused on the production and technology of HTP (high temperature processing) linepipe microalloyed steels and other segments, such as seamless pipe. Discussion topics included specifications, field performance, research advances and production technologies.
A total of 25 papers were presented. Two panel discussions and four roundtables complemented the program. Salient points raised during the three-day event addressed the benefits of applying the HTP concept to produce linepipe steel for large diameter pipes and the resulting gains in the final properties, as well as niobium bearing seamless pipe production.
The conference was attended by 123 delegates, including top experts and specialists from the Russian and Ukrainian oil and gas industry. The entire supply chain participated, from steel and pipe makers to end users and representatives from legislative and specifications entities, research institutes and universities.
The conference is expected to be held every two years and while only in its second edition, it is already an anticipated event for technical experts in the Russian oil and gas industry.
