The São Domingos parish church in Araxá, Minas Gerais underwent two years of restoration and renovation, the result of which was presented to the community in August 2012. The work was supported by the Ministry of Culture through the Rouanet law and sponsored by CBMM.
According to Father Manoel Claro Costa, then parish priest, the majority of the ornamental painting was restored as was the electrical wiring and roof. In addition, the entire sound and lighting systems were upgraded. Passersby certainly note the changes, but the restored painting on the inside most impresses visitors.
