Held in Araxá in November 2011, the International Seminar on Welding High Strength Pipeline Steels brought together over 120 specialists from 17 countries, including the world's leading researchers and professionals, to discuss issues surrounding this timely topic.
CBMM sponsored the event together with TMS, The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society. Twenty-six papers were presented that addressed the welding of high strength steels employed in oil and gas pipelines around the world.
The entire supply chain was represented, from steel suppliers to oil and gas producers, as well as research centers and universities. The role of different elements and microstructures was discussed, in addition to the optimum conditions needed to achieve reliable processes and welds.
